The little town of Westbury (pop. 1300) was founded in 1828. The White House (c 1840), built round an inner courtyard, now houses a collection of 17th and 18th C furniture and art and old toys. The Olde English Inn (1833) is now occupied by an antiques shop. Holy Trinity Church (RC), with a fine bell tower, is one of the largest in the district.
