Fraser (Sugar) Coast Attractions
Fraser Coast is the stretch of Hervey Bay between Maryborough and Bundaberg, sheltered by the 120km long Fraser Island and is also known as the Sugar Coast. It is a popular holiday area, particularly for families, with no dangerous surf. There are boat trips to Fraser Island, combined with tours in all-terrain vehicles of the island on its sandy tracks, and a variety of other day trips. The principal places on the Sugar Coast are Maryborough, an important port and industrial town in the late 19th C., and Bundaberg, an important sugar town at the north end of Hervey Bay.
