The Fleurieu Peninsula, a spur of land projecting southwest from the South Mount Lofty Ranges, extends from O'Halloran Hill (south of Adelaide) to Cape Jervis on the west coast and the vast expanse of Lake Alexandrina in the east. Victor Harbor, in Encounter Bay to the southeast, is a popular beach and holiday resort linked with Granite Island by a long causeway.
