Echuca Attractions
Echuca (pop. 9540), formerly the largest inland port in Australia and a place of considerable economic importance, lies near the junction of the Goulburn and Campaspe Rivers with the Murray. It is now joined up with Moama, across the Murray in New South Wales.
On the river is a massive wharf of red gum wood (restored). Two old buildings, well restored, are the Star and Bridge Hotels. There are cruises on the river in old paddle steamers (Canberra, Pride of Murray).
