Mt Párnis is a limestone hill (1,413m/4,636ft) in Attica, north of Athens, with large areas of coniferous forest, which is frequently snow-capped well into spring. On the summit there was an ancient shrine of Zeus, the Rain-Bringer. The hill attracts many visitors, both for the sake of its climate and for the extensive views it affords.
