Athens - Ares Park Pédion Áreos
Pedion Áreos is an extensive park situated a little to the northwest of the National Archeological Museum in the north of the Athens city center. On the edge of it is the large Mavromateon bus station, from where coaches leave for destinations in Attica.
The main path through the park is lined with busts of Greek heroes. There is also an imposing memorial to Commonwealth soldiers who fell during World War II. The park boasts some friendly cafes and restaurants, and buskers can be seen playing here and there.
