Ashland - Scotchtown
While in Beaverdam be sure to visit Scotchtown. "Give me liberty of give me death". Patrick Henry, the orator of the American Revolution, uttered this famous line. The home where he lived from 1771 to 1778 was Scotchtown and is located in Beverdam, 11 miles from Ashland. The home is furnished in the styles of the late 18th Century and several interesting articles are on display including a Tea Service and a portrait of George Washington.
