Description
In summer the Travel Information Centre arranges visits to Highland Valley Copper (Cominco), one of the largest open copper mines in the world, and the largest in Canada. It is situated amid the charming scenery of the Highland Valley (in the direction of Logan Lake) 75 km southwest of Kamloops.

The mining operation is scheduled to end production sometime around 2009, possibly later depending on metal prices.
