Description
Only the ruins remain of the former castle in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, constructed 1461-1483 by Lord Hastings, razed in 1648. It is featured in the novel "Ivanhoe" by Sir Walter Scott. St Helen's church in Late Perpendicular style contains ornate tombs of the Huntingdon family from the 16th century.
