Wenden Attractions

Wenden is a small town on Highway 60 west of Wickenburg that was established in 1905. As the closest town to Alamo Lake State Park, many visitors stop for gas and supplies before continuing their journey.
Alamo Lake State Park
Alamo Lake is the source for the Bill Williams River, and a popular fishing spot located 35 miles north of Wenden. Alamo Lake State Park offers abundant wild flowers for nature lovers, a lake environment that attracts wildlife year round, including bald and golden eagles, waterfowl, foxes, coyotes, and mule deer. The view of the night sky draws stargazers to the park. Alamo Lake is a popular area for fishing with bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and black crappie in abundance.

Harcuvar Mountains Wilderness
The Harcuvar Mountains Wilderness is located north of Wenden. The granite mountains are rugged and remote. The wilderness area provides habitat for abundant wildlife, including desert bighorn sheep, desert tortoise, cougars, golden eagles, and a variety of hawks.
