Kaibab National Forest

 
Kaibab National Forest occupies 1.5 million acres to the north and south of the Grand Canyon. It is one of six national forests in Arizona, with elevations ranging from 5,500 to 10,418 feet. "Kaibab" is a Paiute Indian word meaning "mountain lying down".
