Barbuda
Barbuda is a small flat island attractive to bird watchers tracking the island's frigate birds and to sailors who enjoy the island's clear waters and calm beaches. Barbuda offers excellent diving opportunities on the coral reef that rings the north-west coast and on the 100 shipwrecks laying in the surrounding waters. The single village of Codrington, has a small population. Barbuda has less than 2% of Antigua and Barbuda's combined population.

Bird Sanctuary
Accessible only by boat, the bird sanctuary lies in the north-west lagoon and contains 170 species of bird, the most prevalent being the frigate bird, known for its bright red gullet and a wing span of over 5 ft/1.5m.
Codrington, Antigua and Barbuda
The main town of Barbuda rests at the edge of the island's largest lagoon and is favored for its water sports. Named Codrington for the family who owned and used Barbuda as a private ranch for 200 years, most of Barbuda's inhabitants descend from the slaves who ran the farm.
Codrington House (Highland House)
The ruins of Codrington House / Highland House, built by the island's founding family, stand on the Highland hills overlooking the north-east lagoons.
Darby Sink Cave
The Darby Sink Cave, caused by dissolution of the limestone, descends 100 ft / 30 m. Although it is often described as a cave it is actually a sink hole, with vegetation growing inside, including the palmetto palm.
