Amsterdam - Town Hall Stadhuis
Oude Hoogstraat leads back to the Oudezijds Achterburgwal and over a bridge to the old Stadhuis. Originally a convent of St Cecilia, the building was converted after the Reformation into the residents of the Stadholder, the Prinsenhof, and was later occupied by the Admiralty. It became the Town Hall when King Louis Napolean took over the original Town Hall as his palace.
