Amsterdam - Old Men's Gateway

(Local Name: Oudemanhuispoort) This arcade has a number of antiquarian bookshops and bookstalls with "oude mannetjes" (little old men) behind the counter. As its name "old men's gateway" indicates, the arcade used to be the entrance to an old people's home. Above the entrance there are still allusions to old age: a pair of spectacles and two old men.
