25mi/40km south of Salt Lake City, on the northern slopes of Mount Timpanogos (11,750ft/3,581m), are three limestone caves linked by underground passages, with marvelous crystal and stalactitic formations.
The first cave was discovered in 1887 by Martin Hansen, a Mormon settler from American Fork. Timpanogos Cave was discovered in 1915 and the Middle Cave was found in 1921.

Tickets are usually sold out by early afternoon. Tickets can be purchased up to 30 days in advance.
