Gorges des Alpes - Gorges du Daluis

Fully 20km/12mi up the Valley of the Var, beyond the village of Entrevaux in the area of Gorges des Alpes, the D902 diverges from the N202 which climbs towards the top of the pass - the Col de Toutes Aures (1,124m/3,689ft) - 18km/11mi to the west. The D902 follows the upper course of the Var and reveals another rewarding landscape. The Gorges du Daluis are an impressive 6km/4mi long ravine, with the road up to 200m/644ft above the Var. Curious red porphyry walls, in places flecked with green, line the road which is led through them in tunnels or around them.
