Chaudan Défilé

North of Plan-du-Var, the river rushes through the Défilé du Chaudan, a picturesque gorge framed by vertical cliffs. At the far end of the gorge the Route Nationale crosses the river by the Pont de la Mescla. The sloping strata of limestone at the narrow part of the gorge near the place where the D2205 turns off on the right, just short of the bridge, make a very impressive sight.
