(Local Name: Lippoldshöhle) The Lippoldshöhle, 1.5km/1mi southwest of Alfeld's Brunkensen suburb, is a cave in the depths of the forest. It consists of a number of chambers and passages which once (c. 1300) formed part of the castle of the robber knight Lippold von Rössing.
