The Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge encompasses more than 2,400 islands and reefs off the Alaskan coast. The area stretches from Cape Lisburne to the tip of the Aleutian Islands and covers 4.5 million acres. The area is particularly known for it's sea birds. Over 40 million are provided nesting habitats in and around the refuge.
