Dothan Attractions

In 1885 Dothan was a hamlet that grew to a village as new settler's realized the growth and opportunity in the community. The town name comes from a quote in the Bible "For I heard them say, let us go to Dothan."

Noteworthy attractions in the town include the Dothan Opera House, built in 1915; Dothan Botanical Garden and 10 murals painted on buildings in the downtown area that depict the people, places and events in the town's history.
Landmark Park
Landmark Park is an 1890's living history farm, complete with an old farmhouse, smokehouse, cane mill, syrup shed, and farm animals. Other buildings on the grounds include a Victorian gazebo, a one-room schoolhouse, a drugstore/doctor's office, a country store and a turn-of-the-century church.

Planetarium shows, art exhibits and nature displays are offered at the interpretive center. An elevated boardwalk and nature trails are available for visitors to discover the natural beauty of Landmark Park on foot.
