Bessemer is located in north central Alabama with a rich history including a display of pioneer homes that date from the early 1887 as well as the Bessemer Hall of History.
Alabama Adventure is a seasonal theme park that includes Wild River Gorge, children's area, thrill rides, waterslides, Dino Domain, and four themed areas.
Marvel City, an area within Alabama Adventure, features a lazy river, wave pool, sandy beach and an nine-storey speed ride. Magic Adventure is another area that offers thrilling rides that include the Zoomerang steel roller coaster and the Space Shot, a free fall ride.

Bessemer Hall of History Museum, established 1969, is housed in a restored railroad depot with displays of fossils, American Indian artifacts, pioneer items, Civil War memorabilia and a collection of old telephones and business machines. Special exhibits are also presented each year.
