Aguascalientes - Plaza Principal (Zócalo)

Gracing the city's main square (Zócalo or Plaza Principal) are the 17th c. Palacio Municipal (town hall) and the 18th c. Palacio de Gobierno (government building), formerly the Palais des Marqués de Guadalupe. The inner courtyard of the superb Baroque palace is decorated with murals by Rivera's pupil Osvaldo Barra depicting the agriculture and industry of Aguascalientes State.
