Agartala - Kunjaban Palace
North of Ujjayanta Palace is Kunjaban Palace, Maharaja Manikya built this palace as a retreat in 1917. The gardens and lawns are well laid out. The palace is now the official residence of the Governor of Tripura.
The south side of the garden is open to the public and named 'Rabindra Kanan' after poet Rabindranath Tagore who stayed in the eastern apartment of this palace during his last visit to the state in 1926.
Adjacent to Kunjaban Palace, is Malancha Niwas a kaccha house where Tagore stayed during his visit in 1919.
